Neuropsychological evaluations are essential for the accurate diagnosis and treatment of many conditions that affect memory and thinking skills, but they typically require multiple, relatively lengthy appointments at the neuropsychologist's office which may be far from your home. Recent developments in telemedicine and neuropsychological assessment have led to new tools and methods that allow for the efficient administration of standardized tests via remote HIPAA-compliant applications.
In TeleNeuropsychology, virtual assessments are conducted in your home via mobile phone and computer-based audio-video platforms. Interview, testing, and feedback sessions are scheduled on separate days to keep appointments to a reasonable length and appointments are scheduled at times that work best for you. Office forms and questionnaires are provided in easy-to-use digital formats and sent to you via confidential email.
TeleNeuropsychology is a convenient, efficient, and cost-effective means of providing services to both local and remote patients. Our hybrid approach combines traditional neuropsychological tests that have established validity and reliability when administered remotely, with contemporary digital tests and screening batteries with normative population data based on remote administration methods. Our unique approach to TeleNeuropsychology results in a 30-60% cost reduction for most patients when our fees are compared to national billing averages for similar services provided by board-certified clinical neuropsychologists.
Remote, home-based telemedicine is an increasingly popular method of service delivery. According to the Library of Medicine and a recent National Electronic Health Record Survey, nearly 85% of leading neurology hospitals and 90% of physicians in the United States reported using telemedicine in 2021.
TeleNeuropsychology is an approved service delivery format endorsed by many national organizations including the American Psychological Association and the Inter Organizational Practice Committee (IOPC) of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology.
Services are provided for patients ages 18 through late senior years. All evaluations are conducted by a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist.

* NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL EVALUATIONS are provided for patients who are experiencing problems with learning, memory, or psychological functioning that impact educational and vocational performance or other important activities of independent daily living.
Common conditions include:
*Neurodiverse conditions including Attention Deficit- Hyperactivity, Autism Spectrum, and other neurodevelopmental learning problems
* Concussion and Mild Traumatic Brain Injury
* Mild Cognitive Impairment
* Alzheimer's, Lewy body, Frontotemporal, Vascular, and other types of dementia
* Medical disorders affecting cognition such as stroke-cerebrovascular disease, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, long COVID, electrical injury, and polytrauma.
* Complex and comorbid psychiatric conditions requiring differential diagnosis or clarification of the cognitive aspects of an underlying disorder (i.e., substance use disorder, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety-OCD, somatization).
* SERIAL NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL RE-EVALUATIONS have many known benefits and advantages. Most notably, comparisons of data points can serve to document the natural progression or resolution of illness and injury which is often critical to differential diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Repeat testing can also be used to measure the clinical effectiveness of pharmacological, surgical, rehabilitation, and educational interventions.
Much as medical laboratory tests are repeated to confirm initial findings, serial neuropsychological tests have value in determining whether initial findings were definitive or accurate (resulting in a correct diagnosis/recommendation), or inaccurate due to confounding examinee, examiner, or environmental factors.
In a forensic context, retesting may serve these same purposes and can assist in determining whether the pattern of performances across time follows the expected course of recovery from an injury, as well as providing insight into the credibility of the examinee's presentation.
