
Dr. John Zarske is a licensed psychologist and board-certified clinical neuropsychologist in private practice in Flagstaff, AZ. Previously, he worked as a clinical neuropsychologist with the Northern Arizona Healthcare Medical Group, in association with the Flagstaff Medical Center and held adjunct assistant professor appointments at the University of British Columbia and Northern Arizona University. He is a past president of the Arizona Psychological Association and a Fellow of the College of the American Board of Professional Neuropsychology.
Dr. Zarske earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from Marquette University and his doctorate in educational psychology from Northern Arizona University. He is a life status member of the American Psychological Association- Society of Clinical Neuropsychology and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists among other professional organizations. He specializes in the assessment of neurological disorders, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Dr. Zarske has served as an ad hoc reviewer for Applied Neuropsychology, the International Journal of Rehabilitation and Health, American Psychologist, School Psychology Review, and the Buros Mental Measurements Yearbook. His research interests have focused on the assessment of intellectual abilities in Native American populations.
Recognized by the Arizona Governor's Council on Head and Spinal Injuries with the Governor's Award for Excellence, John values the individuality of his patients and strives to provide effective recommendations to help them manage cognitive and psychological challenges.
